  •  What is a primer? 

    A primer is one of the most important products used in nail styling. It has a big impact on the durability of a hybrid, gel, acrylic gel, and acrylic enhancements. An acid primer penetrates the nail plate and removes lipid particles from its surface (it deprives the plate of moisture and oil), which significantly increases the adhesion of the base to the natural nail and decreases the risk of the emergence of air pockets. An acid-free primer acts on the surface and increases the adhesion for the subsequent layers of products. Both kinds should be applied sparingly on the natural plate. Avoid contact with skin.

  •  Should a primer always be used? 

    The use of a primer is obligatory during every treatment. Without that product, the nails can be much less durable.

  •  Which primer is better – acid or acid-free? 

    The choice of a primer depends on the type of our client’s nail plate. The acid free primer is the most universal and popular product which increases the adhesion of other products to the natural nail plate. Its formula is mild and almost odorless. It does not cause skin tingling or irritation even if the nails are damaged. Once it has been applied, it does not evaporate from the nail, and it leaves a slightly sticky layer on it. When the client’s nail plate is especially demanding – the standard enhancement attracts air or chips off – an acid primer is recommended. That product is strong; it etches the plate so that the hybrid, gel, or acrylic mass can adhere to it perfectly. Acid primers have a strong odor and can cause a temporary stinging sensation.
