Description

Indigo tea is a Genmaicha tea originating from Japan. Genmaicha is a variety of tea often referred to as "rice tea." Roasted brown rice, blended with tea leaves, gives an infusion of nutty notes and a slightly sweet taste, creating a harmonious composition with the delicate flavor of green tea.

Even at the first sip, the subtle umami flavor characteristic of this Japanese variety is perceptible. Thanks to its controlled cultivation method, it is a higher quality tea with a more subtle flavor compared to Genmaichia from China.

The brewing methods affect the color, flavor intensity and bitterness level. Genmaicha is a tea that is brewed for a short period of time - after such time it acquires a golden color and a sweet and nutty flavor. Too long a steeping period will affect the perceptible bitterness.
